Unidentified wasp like critter
Does anyone kow what this wasp like insect is?



There were lots of them walking around on wild carrot flowers, are they feeding on pollen or are they searching for other insects on the flowers?

Looks like Chrysotoxum binctum,a Hoverfly.

Chrysotoxum bicinctum, just to correct the spelling. Presumably bicinctum because of the two yellow bands.
