| | | Hornets Nest Advice My teenage daughter has been getting a load of hornets in her room. We have now discovered a nest in the apex of the roof above the window. We've closed that window for now - it's not too hot and she's got another.
If we leave them be, will they disappear at the end of the summer, or is the nest likely to become a permanent fixture? If the latter, I think we might need to get rid of it - unfortunately though its a second floor window and beyond the reach of a normal ladder, and too far above the small window to be dealt with from there.
I know hornets are generally pretty gentle, but she was stung two days ago by one that had nestled in some clothing in her room.
THere's no urgency - daughter's at boarding school and goes back this weekend. |

| | | Re: Hornets Nest Advice Colonies collapse at the end of the summer. Its very rare that old nests are used again, 99% of the time a new colony is extablished at another site. Its probably easiest just to let them die out. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
