| | | Massive wasp nest in my attic My partner found a massive wasp nest in the attic whilst laying insulation, he took a picture, we presume its an old one because we didnt see any wasps dead or alive. We've been living here for 3 months but the house was empty for 2 years before hand so i think they may have died out when the house was empty and cold? Should we get it removed? Will they return? I have a baby due in the next month and i was stung by a whole hive of honey bees as a child so naturally i have a fear of them and dont want it in the house if it can be a danger to my baby. Many thanks
Ps, my partner has a completely different view of the nest. He thinks its beautiful and a work of art but i find it repulsive and the the thought of it up there makes my skin crawl (i know that sounds horrible but i really, really dont like bees or wasps!)

| | | Re: Massive wasp nest in my attic I forgot to say the nest is across the roofing and on the insulation in the corner of the attic. It isn't a ball shape hanging from the roof. |

| | | Re: Massive wasp nest in my attic This is a nest from a previous season as otherwise it would be full of activity at the moment as numbers of wasps are just about at a peak now. you can leave it or remove it but it won't be used again.
However it's possible a new nest could be built in future years if there is access into your attic from outside, but they won't use the old one.
