Looks like a moth but not a moth - ID help please!
Hello,

I was wondering what this insect is, it was brought in by my friends cat (in Surrey). Although it looks a bit like a moth it appears to have a hard cased body, I have no idea what it could be!

Thanks for any help in advance!

Oh and I should add, she said it was making a kind of clicking noise.

Looks like a moth to me, a very worn one. It's lost the hairs on it's body and most of the scales on it's wings.

I don't think I have heard a moth making a clicking noise. The abdomen looks damaged on the left side, maybe some of the innards were seeping?
