Rotten pics I know but I just wondered if there is enough in them to get an idea of what these very small, non-stop beetles are, please?   
And also I wondered if the head patterning on this fly indicated anything helpful to its ID at all?  Thanks as ever! |

The fly looks like a Tachinid.

Hello
I would say the beetle is Anthocomus rufus which is small roughly 5mm. I am not sure about the fly. |

Thanks Hedera and healfdan! Having googled Anthocomus rufus it looks exactly right! (I have other blurry angles and all match up equally well.) And yes very small - 5mm sounds right. Great! As to the fly, I found a shot with a bit more thorax and wing, in case this helps if it might be a Tachinid. Thanks again!  | | |
