identify bug found in house


please help identify bugs i started finding around the floors in my house

Try Ptinus sp., a so-called Spider-beetle.

thanks for reply Jason. would you know anything about this species - do they infestate, should i get an exterminator in, are they harmful & where would they have come from? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

I suspect insects like these are present in most homes. I wouldn't worry about exterminators unless it grows as an issue. Just a good scrub-down around skirting-boards and the like in infected areas if you wish.
