Hi Wabbers,
Nearly tripped over this bumble bee that was crawling around on some grass in the back garden, then obligingly flew over to a hollyhock flower and nuzzled around for a few minutes. Is it a queen? bumblebee - Wild About Britain Pics |

Likely a new queen Bombus terrestris. I saw one today which was easily 3cm long!

Looks to me like Bombus lucorum, the yellow is too "bright" for B.terrestris.
