Caterpillar identification please
Can someone please identify this caterpillar for me please. They have eaten all the leaves on my silver birch tree.

I think they are birch sawfly larvae.

Thank you so much. That explains why I couldn't find them in my caterpillar book. I would have forgiven them had they turned into beautiful butterflies or moths!
