Grasshopper question

This was taken on 1st August and is cropped. When I studied the image it appears it is partly green (mainly hidden) and partly brown (nearest the camera). Is there anything unusual perhaps its still developing.

It's fully mature (fully winged rather than wingbuds) + appears a fairly typically coloured Common Green Grasshopper, though bear in mind many species can be very variable in colour.

Thanks aeshna5. I don't get to take pictures of grasshoppers that often, the weather has to be right and they are difficult to approach without unsettling. Fascinating to study the images in way that can't be easily done at the time they were made. Your comments are always welcomed.
