snail at dusk
I've just photographed this very graceful snail edging out onto a branch of fennell in my garden.

A Garden Snail, Conchu aspersum.

I had Fennel in my garden for many years- a plant I love + also good at attracting hoverflies + various wasps. Yet all of a sudden over the last couple of years they've been decimated by snails + slugs, which previously ignored it. Frustrating as I welcome molluscs in my garden, but miss having Fennel; also looks good with the Verbena bonariensis.
