Bee-Like Fly?

Hello all,

I spotted this fly (I think its one of the flies?) buzzing around one of our reserves today. It was the size of a large bee, and buzzed and flew in a similar way to one. The reserve is a bog habitat with wet woodland and is located in South Wales (Henllys Bog). The pictures are not that great because they where taken on a phone and then cropped....... but it would be great if I could get an ID?

Yes - this is Tachina grossa - nothing else realy like it for size and colour in the UK.

Could I have the details for the recording scheme database please.
