| | | Re: Might be a mite? Yes it's a mite, it depends on which type of mite they are on what they eat. Flour mites eat flour, dust mites eat shed skin particles, some eat mould. Mites outside will live on a variety of foods including pollen... here's a few to browse. Another laboratory test on the poor things!
I have seen predatory red mites on the Oak tree eating a thrips.

| | | Re: Might be a mite? Interesting - I have seen red spider mites, but this one was a bit different. The Evening primrose plant it was on had some mildew which the ladybird was no doubt eating, and lots of pollen had been dropped by bees on the leaves, so it's possibly after that food. A fast mover!!
