The antennae are completely wrong and see that deep loop in the 'middle' wing vein. That points to Eristalini family.
Merodon equestris has all dark legs but Toby's fly has pale areas on the tibiae which points towards Eristalis intricarius. A rather variable coloured species which often isn't instantly recognisable. |
