| | | Miridae Dichrooscytus rufipennis? Hi,
This looks the closest to me, but there's no photo on the site britishy bugsy so there's no description. It does look the closest to me on miridade.dk but I might be missing something.
Janet

| | | Re: Miridae Dichrooscytus rufipennis? I'm not sure why there isn't a pic on the site Ashe, but I don't think it's very rare. Maybe nobody has managed to get a photo of a live one yet. In the systematic list it says widely scattered, the nbn records show them mostly around the coast.
The other species we have listed Dichrooscytus gustavi has a shorter second antennal segment.
From photos I have found this looks to be correct. Bildgalleri Macro Photos - Hemiptera (true bugs) - Dichrooscytus rufipennis

| | | Re: Miridae Dichrooscytus rufipennis? there are two photo records on flickr one English and one European so it may well be worth having a look at them as they are good quality shots i only had a quick glance so can not be sure on the id but looks promising
there is a good number of us bug hunters on flickr and it does seem strange that there are not more photographic records according to to it status |

| | | Re: Miridae Dichrooscytus rufipennis? Hi - Did you find it on/under a conifer? See more info here. Also a couple of photos. Bit more info on NHM Dictionary. Hope this helps. Jane |

There are some Scots pines not far away but I also have a Leylandii hedge, the NHM does say it also feeds on other conifers.
Thanks for the links.

| | | Re: Miridae Dichrooscytus rufipennis? yes, D. rufipennis - I have only found it once when beating Scots Pine and I wasn't able to get a photo. Your picture would be a great addition to the british bugs website if you don't us using it.
Cheers

Tristan | You are welcome to use it Tristan. Do you want me to send the original, or is the one here OK? I guess you want my full name too, I'll pm that to you with grid reference.
