| | | Beautiful white earwig Hmmmm.... somehow the words beautiful and earwig don't quite seem.....
Stony Stratford, Bucks.
Thought some of you might find this interesting: So is she white because she's recently moulted or because she's...well...white?

| | | Re: Beautiful white earwig Wait for it... I found one too!
I found mine at night on the wall outside, it's buried somewhere in my folders.
I was surprised to see a white one which was also big, I know they are white when very young.
Gosh, you can see through yours Bruce, yes I would call her beautiful too!
My guess was newly moulted.

In my opinion it is close to transparent ( as you said ) because it has recently moulted but it is a wonderful find and a seriously well taken shot, congratulations on a great image and a nice find.

| | | Re: Beautiful white earwig What an interesting picture! She's very vulnerable in this state. I gather they make very good mothers.

| | | Re: Beautiful white earwig She's pearly and beautiful I wonder of they all look like this after moult but just don't come out into the light very often for fear of being eaten in this soft un-armoured state?

| | | Re: Beautiful white earwig I found mine after much searching, missed it first time!
This was on 4th July, ummmm, at 3.13am! Lucky I had a last look before going to bed!
She was quite high on the wall, and I was stood on a chair. I marked her at ~12mm.
