I'm not experienced with this family, Mark, but judging by the way that the second long wing vein follows the yellowish pterostigma I would agree with Snipe Fly family.

But I'm not sure if we can go any further down the species identification road without seeing more details.

I think it has to be Rhagio tringarius, there's two with yellow pterostigma. The other, R. annulatus has a greyish black humerus (shoulder).

I have googled Rhagio tringarius and it does look very similar
