| | | bees and wasps please Would anyone be able to help me id some of these please?
1. I spent ages trying to get photos of this bee. These are the best two I'm afraid. It had an insistent high-pitched buzz which enabled me to tell where it was even amongst other bees. It also wouldn't keep still. I was wondering about Andrena cineraria
2. I don't know if these two are the same species. I saw the second one (I think) a few days ago - this is the photo. Then someone thought possibly female Anthophora furcata.
3. I managed to get a head-on shot of this normal looking wasp. Is it possible to id it please?
4. I'm assuming this is a wasp by its thin waist. I'm hoping there aren't too many spp with bright knees and face stripes.
5. I think this is a bee. Are there many tiny black bees with white legs?
Many thanks |

Bees of Surrey is out of print and none are available on ebay or Amazon. Are there any other books you would recommend please? |

| | | Re: bees and wasps please Try to buy it direct from the Surrey nature society.
If you are going to the AES exhibition in October they might sell a copy there. |
