Newspaper insects
Just been sent a picture from a friend showing what is said to be an ichneumon wasp with a spider in it's mandibles. It is in today's Northampton Chronicle and echo. Is this not a digger wasp? Probably hard to tell from this? Thought some might be interested.

Afternoon John,

Tell them it's actually a Spider-hunting Wasp from the Pompilidae family. Ichneumon wasps are from Ichneumonidae and have much longer with higher-segmented antennae.
