| | | Re: Hoverflies decapitated.. Hmmm..... the actual hoverfly bodies don't look like they have been killed by a spider. Spiders wrap their prey up in a fine web then when they feed on it the prey is a black decomposing mass. These look like hoverflies which have been captured in a web then dissected by a wasp feeding its larvae. Wasps usually cut up their prey into sections like these, and commonly raid spider webs. You can only speculate from a photo, but thats my opinion. |
