Field Grasshopper? Help with ID please..

I think this is Field Grasshopper is that right? Also because the wings are short is this a male?

Yes a Field grasshopper.

The wing length can vary a little in this species and the general ID tip is that they should at least reach the hind knees.

But I had one recently where the wings were a little shorter and there was a larger area of 'exposed' abdomen showing.
