| | Solitary Wasp for ID please Found this flying around my Dorset garden yesterday after the rain. I think it could be an Ancistrocerus sp.? Could it be Ancistrocerus nigricornis? as on the first photos you can see a hint of a stepped abdomen which I believe is a feature of this species.

| | | Re: Solitary Wasp for ID please With this lot, Ancistrocerus is the best you can hope for from a photo. The banding can be variable and you really need to see some very detailed "microscope level" detail for a confident ID. |
