| | | Egg on elytra of 14-spot ladybird Northants garden.
14-spot ladybirds are particularly numerous in my garden this year. I only took this pic because its markings were very different. It was only when I was processing in Photoshop that I noticed the tiny egg on the wing case. Anyone know what it might be from?

It just looks like some kind of detritus/organic matter - doubt egg. Still, all part of nature's cycle if so!
Take care, Jason |

To me it resembles and I repeat resembles it resembles a Lacewing egg detached from it's stalk but the stalk also seems visible on the shell of the Ladybird but this is just my take on it.
Good luck.

| | | Re: Egg on elytra of 14-spot ladybird Janet - Unfortunately I didn't realise it had a passenger until I viewed it on screen .
Jason - You could well be right....but to me it still looks like an egg .
Gray -Thanks for your input . It's very small isn't it and not very distinctive (unlike your recent "orange eggs" posting).
