Unknown insect - sawfly?
Could anyone ID this please? It was taken in Leicestershire in June, approx 20mm in length. Is it a Sawfly of some sort?

for the benefit of others, this has now been identified as a Stem Sawfly, from the family Cephidae

Fantastic shot isn't it! Do we know what the drop under its head is - would the sawfly have created it as a digestive bubble - or?

thanks for the comment, it was just a rain (or dew) drop I think. The surrounding foliage was all quite wet.

Nice shot. Insects often drink from dew or rain drops on leaves.
