| | | Pale coloured bug, could someone ID Can anyone identify this bug? The legs aren't shown in the photo but they have spines running down them, together with the short antennae I'm thinking this is a leafhopper but I've never seen one this rounded before.
All suggestions appreciated |

| | | Re: Pale coloured bug, could someone ID Afternoon Sam,
Looks like a Delphacid, possibly immature. When wet/in alcohol, it is in my experience insects tend to look rather rotund.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Pale coloured bug, could someone ID Thanks Jason. Eurysa lineata looks like a good bet, I know phtos aren't all that reliable but the picture from british bugs.org looks remarkably similar.

| | | Re: Pale coloured bug, could someone ID Yes, very strange. You do have a delphacid nymph here but very difficult to say more. My money would be on something like a female Dicranotropis hamata |

| | | Re: Pale coloured bug, could someone ID Thanks Tristan, Dicranotropis hamata does look similar although it has green eyes and this one has black, is there variation between male/female or at different life stages?
P.S. Did you get the reply to the email you sent me a couple of weeks ago? (it was me that sent you an email about a bug that turned out to be Tytthus pygmaeus), I really appreciate your help. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
