Tiny insect for ID

This looks like a tick or something it was tiny about 2mm in length it had a scaly sort of shell like texture..
It was on a curry plant in my garden this is very closely cropped..

Was it a but dead-looking Elaine? I'm thinking parasitized aphid.

Wow..thank you both, I wouldn't have guessed that.
I didn't see it move so it must be dead, I can see its an aphid now looking at it.
This inedible curry plant is full of aphids some are getting really big too there are lots of ladybirds on there too eating their way through them..
