Hoverflies galore

Hi All

I am very new to Wildaboutbritain but I thought a comment about the number of Hoverflies is worth a mention.
My garden in North Yorkshire is in full blossom at the moment and have noticed a wide variety of Hoverflies. The numbers seem to be a lot larger than previous years.
Is this down to the anomolies of this years weather.
I have also read that these are Gardeners friends.

I've noticed a lot of hoverflies this year too, particularly the Marmalade Hoverfly, hundreds of them everywhere!

Same here too, I have never seen so many on the flowers and as we have doors wide open at the moment they keep coming into the porch and the hallway so we are spending ages catching them and taking them back out! Very lovely though.
