| | | Re: Green insect on bedroom ceiling Apparently there are 10 British species of bush cricket of which the oak bush cricket is one so no need for them to hitch a ride through the tunnel. I think it must come from a 10 foot Yew tree which is outside the front of our house. If so it shares it with a blackbird nest and at least two sparrow nests. It's like a condominium in there. |

It's like a condominium in there. | Oak Bush-cricket ( Meconema thalassinum) and Southern Oak Bush-cricket ( Meconema meridionale) are 2 different species. The latter only recently coming to the British Isles, they're normally restricted to mainland Europe.
