| | | Re: Lack of Butterflies? I saw many more Orange Tips than usual in the spring but few since. Speckled Woods and Meadow Browns seem to be doing very well and I've even seen some Common Blues. These last 3 admittedly at a nature reserve rather than in my garden. |

even with the expected general decline, this year seems dire.
Got a smallish garden full of buddlias & jasmine & sugar-loads of insect-usable dahlias,
with the aim of supporting any insects populations - particularly butterflies.
But only seen:
a few red admirals
two tortoise shells
one white admiral
several whites
gate keeper, small heath
should be much more than this !
What's going on ? |

| | | Re: Lack of Butterflies? The Big Butterfly count had to be extended to 7 August .Their site said the lack of sightings for butterflies was due to lack of sunshine.
