| | | What this brown jumping bug? Hi
I've recently found some bugs in my house, around the area of the joining wall between kitchen and front room I've found 3 over the last few days and would like to know what they are and if they're a problem as I have an 8 month old. They're approx 5mm in length, have 6 legs but no antennae and the 2 back ones are a lot longer. They has wings but can't see how many sets and they're brown in colour. They jump like fleas when I caught 1 in a glass but are bigger. Can anyone help as I've searched internet with no luck. Thank you |

Yes as Triops says a photo would help alot.
Your description sounds like it could possibly be Alticini that are a problem to us only as plant pests,I wouldn't expect them indoors, though some could of strayed in maybe. But these would have antennae. And also have a look at Springtails on the off chance.
But try searching the net for those.
Jason.

| | | Re: What this brown jumping bug? Just found something similar, if somewhat larger at about 1 cm in my house. The only picture I've seen that looks like it is the common froghopper (the cuckoospit insect I think) but I've never seen one this big before! |

| | | Re: What this brown jumping bug? Hi Liargo. Does sound a litle like froghopper/Planthoppers. Did they have a pointed head and appear sort of diamond-shaped?
First pic is a common froghopper, and are completely harmless. Second pic is a Springtail, and again completely harmless. Froghopper patterns and colours can be very variable
Pablito999 did your specimen look like this. It is another common Leafhopper, and are larger in size than the froghopper above
