| | | Re: Hoverfly ID It doesn't have the 'grey dusted shoulders' of most grey spotted Xylota species so my first thoughts would be Platycheirus albimanus. Fairly small, around 8 mm max.
Although on second thoughts; going by the shape of those spots, I also wonder about a grey spotted version of Melanstoma.
Certainly something to think about here.

Agree with albimanus. The Xylota genus are pretty notable with much more presence.
