Fly ID Please

Hi all

I was in the garden the other evening when this insect landed on a buddleia leaf right in front of me. I couldn't give you the exact size, but at a guess it was no more than 1-1.5cm in length. It was very alert - following my every move as I tried to get a couple of photos of it, before it got fed up with me and disappeared.

I'm confident in saying I have absolutely no idea what it may be as I have never seen one before. Until I took a closer look I thought it was some sort of hoverfly. I half wondered if it might be a robber fly of some sort?

It's a Thick-headed Fly from the Conopidae family - a Sicus sp.
