male bee wolf?
Hello,

Today this was hanging around an area where the bee wolf/bee killer wasp Philanthus triangulum is nesting and I'm thinking it is the male - does that look right?



All others around the nest site today appeared to be females (some arriving with immobilised bees) which are about twice the size of this individual.

Thanks Matt, I saw a couple more today. This one was flying small circuits and returning to perch in an elevated position near the nests - waiting for a female to appear perhaps.
