| | Beetle for identification please Evening all
I have this evening (approx 7.15pm) found a large black beetle which has, what can only be described and throng (as in fern like) type antenna and rather large pincers.
We live in Norfolk (right next to the broards) and have never seen anything like it. My hudband is quite a keen countryman but this beetle has even him stumped.
Hopefully a photo will attach.
Any ideas please
Thanks

It might be worth reporting to your county beetle recorder. When I reported one about five years ago, it was the first Herts. record since 1952.

| | Re: Beetle for identification please Thanks everybody for your identification.
I knew it must have been something special.
They're stong little beggers too, i put him in a jam jar so i could get a good look at him and he was able to roll the jam jar along!
I will definately report my find to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
What a fantastic website this is. |
