Orange insect for id

I've a feeling this should be pretty obvious, but I've no idea what it is!

It's a Velia species of Water-skater - probably V. caprai.

I should have said Pond-skater. Yes, they live on water - but can make fair journeys on dry land between water-bodies. How did it seem?

It seemed OK and we were near quite a bit of freshwater. We didn't attempt to pick it up though. Becky
