| | | One bee, one hoverfly, both tricky... My only resource for either of these is Collins Complete British Insects and I'm not at all sure they're in there. Here's the hoverfly...
The closest I can get is Scaeva pyrastri but I'm not convinced it is.
This is the bee...
I guessed at Andrena sp. while photographing it and A. haemorrhoa looks possible, but again I'm not entirely convinced.
All help greatly appreciated.

If possible, I would prefer to leave the bee to an expert. |

| | | Re: One bee, one hoverfly, both tricky... Evening Dave,
The first is Eupeodes corollae. The second is actually a Leaf-cutter Bee, Megachilidae - possibly Megachile versicolor, must check though first.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: One bee, one hoverfly, both tricky... The bee looks quite big.... and the scopa is much paler than M. versicolor. I'd suggest M. ligniseca as a possibility | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
