| | | Two flies for id please. I have these very small red eyed flies in my garden, lots of them and the other one i found at the local nature reserve, they look so ordinary until you see them close-up. Any ideas please.

I say looks like because I think there are a few smaller similar looking species.
C. nervosus is reasonably large, around 6 to 8 mm. |
