I rescued this from the sitting room. Looking at the very common ones I'm thinking it might be Machimus cingulatus, but perhaps there are others similar/ not enough detail in the pics to say? Thanks for any help!   |

My feelings were that it's a well marked Tolmerus atricapillus male, but to look further just in case I searched for something similar..

Thanks Janet - interesting, hadn't ever come across that alternative!
Of course am struggling to see differences between the two! But at least I'll know for future ref to cover legs and genital segment as well! The nearest I got to the latter was this... but probably no help?!  | | |
