| | | Common Hawker - information request
This was taken today in Hetton Bogs. I believe it is a Common Hawker. Can anyone assist with gender and development stage. |

| | | Re: Common Hawker - information request An immature female Southern Hawker for me-note the absence of yellow costa, the pale triangle on S2, broad ante-humeral stripes + stripes across segments 9 + 10. |

| | | Re: Common Hawker - information request I've just been doing a bit of research and realise that aeshna5 probably takes her forum name from the latin names attached to Hawkers.
The Hawker was seen in Hetton le Hole, between Sunderland and Durham City. It appears it is not common in our area. I'm really pleased with the image and its subject, particularly after the ID has been
given. |

| | | Re: Common Hawker - information request That's the trouble with the word Common, in some instances such as this, it isn't common at all. I'd like to see one but I don't think I will where I am in Kent. Great photograph though. A real beauty.

| | | Re: Common Hawker - information request Sorry about that! I have had responses in the past from you and, not realising the source of your name, presumed it was a female first name. As I said "a little older - a little wiser". Keep up the good work. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
