| | | Underground Bees ID Hi,
First post here, while sitting in the garden today we noticed a number of bees congregating around one place and then going through a crack in the concrete, I've attached a short video of one of them and would really appreciate some advice as to what type of bee they are and if we should do anything about them, or just leave them be. | | | Re: Underground Bees ID Welcome to WAB. The image isn't great, but they are bumble bees, Bombus species, maybe B. terrestris.
Generally they will leave you alone if you don't bother them. Unless you've got a very young child who may go poking around just leave them. The colony should die out in the autumn. |

| | | Re: Underground Bees ID Wow that was a quick response, and thank you for the welcome. Sorry about the quality of the video as it was done on the phone and I may have had a glass or two of wine over a late lunch!
Our son is a bit too old for digging around and the dogs don't seem to bothered either. Quite pleased that we should be able to let them do their thing over the summer.
Once again, thank you. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
