| | | wasp attack While out in my local nature reserve having a mooch as we do I saw a little boy who was crying and screaming but there was an adult with him so I carried on thinking it was his dad just as I got out of site the little boy gave a blood curling scream I stopped in my tracks went back to see what was going on the boy was now in hysterics I asked what was wrong and the adult with him said he was being stung by wasps he phoned the ambulance as I tended to ewan (the little boy ) I removed and squashed a wasp on his neck through his screams and sobs he told me he was still being stung on his legs and his ankles I whipped his shoes and socks of and his tracksuit bottoms at least 12 wasps were in his tracksuit bottoms as I threw these to one side (later checked these and there were 7 live wasps still in there ) he then said he was being stung on his willy I removed his under pants and sure enough there were 2 on his little manhood which I removed at this point the other adult said he thought I had gone to far taking the boys cloths off and told the ambulance operator he also wanted the police called I cleared ewans under wear and told him to put them back on he was reluctant to do so until I showed him there were no more wasps once he was decent again he had stopped crying a little I found out where he lived 2 mins from my home so I called my wife who then went to tell ewans mom what had happened all was quiet then screams he was now saying they were stinging his head he has very thick hair running my hands through it I fished out 3 more wasps his mom arrived at this time so did the ambo well fast response car he had been stung a total of 22times mainly on his legs ankles and man hood had two sting sites and four stings on his scalp I gave his mom my address told her what had happened and that the police had been called I then carried on my way going for my walk this happened last Tuesday on the Sunday ewan his mom and dad turned up on my door with a couple bottles of wine and a 24 pack of lager and a card of ewan saying thank you for saving me from the wasps his mom and told me the police were not involved and they were great full for all I had done now my question is would any other members of WAB do the same thing ? If it happened again tomorrow I would have no doubt to do the same thing
Or in this climate of pedophiles’ would most people walk away???

| | | Re: wasp attack Well done for helping the little boy. Am glad his parents came to thank you. What a horrible situation for the little boy and yourself. It is awful when a person is accused of molesting little boys in such circumstances. If you had not intervened then he would have been stung even more. His parents and Ewan were lucky that you were nearby. |

| | | Re: wasp attack What an awful thing to be accused of when all you were doing was trying to help.
People have died from wasp stings and I think this boy was lucky you came along its a sad state of affairs when you could potentially have been added to sex offenders list it will certainly make you think before you jump in and help someone next time.
I am so glad the boys parents were grateful as not everyone would have been so.
That poor boy, the wasps give off pheromones to tell the others to sting the same person had you not helped who knows what would have happened..
The person who called the police should be done for wasting police time.
What a horrible thing to dd when clearly you were only helping.. |

| | | Re: wasp attack It sounds to me that in the heat of the moment, the father wasn't thinking too clearly. I'm glad he came to his senses. First thought I had was why the father wasn't stripping the lad himself, but maybe it all happened too fast. I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't have thought it inappropriate for you to whip his pants off, especially as he said he was being stung inside them. In your situation I wouldn't have thought twice about doing the same thing.
Well done for stepping in Faz. If this had happened to either of my two-year-olds, I'd be bringing the booze round too.
Richard

Richard | I don't think it was the boys father I think it was a complete stranger who didn't seem to be doing a lot for the boy in anyway. |
