| | | Re: help with i.d.'s please Evening Tim,
It's probably best these are uploaded to WAB's image archive. Anyway, the first is a Garden Spider - Araneus diadematus, a Long-legged Fly of the Dolichopodidae family and the fourth is the Lily Beetle.
Take care, Jason |

I think your number 6 is a male Sphaerophoria scripta
number 5 a yellow dung fly

| | | Re: help with i.d.'s please I must stress I am not an expert on wasps, so I am hoping for an expert to come and say whether I have used this identification website correctly to come up with Dolichovespula sylvestris for the wasp (#7)?
And could number 2 be a Mother-of-pearl moth? I am not sure, It's tough without seeing the wings.
Katy.

| | | Re: help with i.d.'s please #1 Andrena bicolor female
#2 Mother of Pearl looks right, I got one on the 16th.
#3 agree with Heterotoma planicornis
#4 Lauxaniidae
#5 Scathophaga stercoraria (yellow dung fly)
#6 agree most likely Sphaerophoria scripta
#7 agree with Dolichovespula sylvestris
#8 agree with Sarcophagidae
#9 Calliphoridae probable Lucilia sp. but there's several of them which are similar.
#10 probably Anthomyiidae, female. Not an easy group with the best of detail showing.
