hover fly confirmation
hi
im guessing this is a hover fly of some sort....is it episyrphus balteatus? it was in my moth trap a few days ago....

thanks for any help

Yes - the double barred black stripes are diagnostic.

Seems to be a lot of these at the moment, I had to get my ID confirmed yesterday as the same species. But have a lot in the garden.
