Large fly for ID, please
Trapped in the conservatory. I think it might be a hoverfly of some sort as it lacks bristles, although it wasn`t hovering. I did try to search for it online, but there were so many images to look through, I gave up and took the easier way by posting a pic here in the hope that someone can ID it please.

I'd go for a hoverfly, Volucella pellucens but i'm still quite new to hoverflies so won't commit myself
