When I was at Bookham yesterday some people witnessed (I didn't see this as I was ahead) the soldier beetle Rhagonycha attempting to mate with this species. A bizarre coupling- obviously fruitless as they are in 2 totally different families! |

I've seen it mentioned as Leptura maculata too. |
