From that photo I wouldn't like to say which Skipper; but perhaps one of the experts in this field can add more information.

Craig. The Collins Complete Guide to British Insects has a reasonable butterfly section and there is a simple (and cheap) fold out ID Guide from the Field Studies Council FSC Publications : Butterflies of Britain: British butterfly identification guide
And several excellent, although more expensive, books cover the subject in greater detail. |
