| | | Unknown Beatle. Hi Guy's. I found this little chap whilst searching thropugh some undergrowth. I spent all day searching through the Insects Gallery without finding it. Or did I? The only thing I found anywhere like, but could not be really sure, was a Nettle Ground Bug. Somehow I have doubts. can anyone put the real name to this little chap. Many thanks. |

Is the picture you mean?
If so, I think it shows a sawfly (possibly a Tenthredo sp.) |

| | | Re: Unknown Beatle. You're not wrong about the variety and I'm told that it's impossible to identify many if not most from a photo (I'll admit that, with the exception of some of the more spectacular ones like Cimbex spp. I tend to think "ah a sawfly" and move swiftly on )
regards

Agree with Sawfly, of course.

I am coming on fine. Only have a Nikon Coolpix 990 but it seems up to the job. Regards to everyone. Walt. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
