| | | huge scary insect! What the heck is this?!! Hi, I found a huge insect brought in by my cat today. It was still moving slightly when I found it. 4cm body length, 7cm wingspan. Ive put photos of it entitled 'scary insect' in the Gallery. Live in suburban area, Chorlton, south Manchester. Does anyone know what it is? Are my kids safe in the garden? Are there likely to be more of them? HELP!!! |

It was a moth. It looks like it's given a lot of pleasure to someone's cat. I'd say, looking at the pink face, it might have been an Elephant Hawk Moth.
Not dangerous at all. There could well be more of them, hopefully in better nick.
