| | | What to feed worms? My son has been reading a book about wormeries, and found an old plastic aquarium in the garage, filled it with fine soil from a couple of molehills, which he has thoroughly dampened, and now introduced 2 earthworms! He has put it in a shady spot outside, and is giving me minute by minute reports of whats happening!
I'm obviously thrilled with his sudden interest in wildlife, but also advising him caution about not keeping them too long as they are wild creatures after all. I have looked online about whether we should feed them anything, and general consensus is they get a lot of nutrients from the actual soil itself, but will also take decaying plant matter. Is there anything we could put in the tank just to make sure they are getting enough to eat? I think the book he was reading was more about the garden wormeries for compost, and they are a different type of worm, so probably not quite the right advice! |

| | | Re: What to feed worms? Worms usually pull fallen leaves into the soil.. dead ones would be fine if you can find some but they should preferably be moist.
