| | | Re: Beetle ID please x It is hard to say by this very bad photo, what kind of beetle this really is. I can tell, that this is no Phyllopertha horticola (Gardden Chafer - green Pronotum, more wide in the habitus, much smaller) and that Matt is very close to the right identification, if this shouldn't be Amphimallon solstitiale.
But there is not much left. The different species of Rhizotrogus are much more earlier in the year. I guess Miltotrogus is not occuring in the UK and if it is the species are much darker coloured than this one in the picture. Anoxia is totally different and bigger so that there is only Amphimallon left. And the possibilities in another Amphimallon-species are close to zero.
