Froghopper question
A friend has seen one of my froghopper photos and she has a photo of a froghopper literally "squirting" a projectile of liquid out of it's back end.

Does anybody know what this is? A reaction to fend of enemies perhaps?

Any suggestions, or indeed an affirmative answer would be interesting to read...

The young froghoppers exude a liquid and make it bubbly to protect to perhaps themselves, hence the "cuckoo-spit" name. So perhaps this is a grown-up way of protection too.
